I am having great success with XLOX and lee TL dies, Can I tumble lube bullets other than TL successfully? I would like to try some of the other more usual types of dies.

When you say "dies", do you really mean Molds?
I've Tumble Lubed all of my RCBS Wadcutter boolits, and relubed some old commercial cast SWC's, with no trouble.
