    Thanks Guy's

This is a follow up on the earlier post "You won't believe this".
I bought this H&R Target because they have discontinued them this year. I had been looking at them for sometime. As the earlier post said it shot all over the place. I ordered the Lee 250 grain mold and it shot better. I ask a ? What is Beagleing a mold mean? and someone sent me to the castpics link at the bottom of the page. It has a real good discription of beagling so I thought I would try it. My mold is .379 and I need .381 or .382. Any way I beagled the mold and got a out of round .386 x .380 -This is not good. Tried again with a little better results. I don't remember exact measurments but I loaded 5 of them. They didn't shoot bad. Also at the castpics link I found an article on mold lapping. I thought "this may work" so I got to work. I would lap a while then clean and check it. When I got it throwing .3815 boolits I loaded them with 9.5 gr Unique and some with 50 gr Blackpowder. The results were super.(see Pictures) I need to work a little more on the BP loads but they are still not bad. Also thanks to this website I have a Marlin 1895 CB 45-70 that shoots this good also. It didn't until I got info here at Cast Boolits buts that is another thread.
Sorry for the long post but maybe it will help someone else with the same problem. I would still like to get a mold at .382 because my gun slugs at .381 so if anyone comes up with one to get rid of PM me.

    Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...schelman2.mspx
    or here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

You can download free software from Microsoft, only takes a minute. Once installed, you can easily resize your photos in seconds.

There was a group buy for a .383" Gas Check bullet a couple of years ago.

    Thread Here

I would be interested in seeing a similar, plain based version done someday.

Yes I think a plain base at .383 would be perfect for my gun. I could always size down if needed. Its a lot easier to go down than up.
That is a good looking boolit. Have you heard anyone say how they shoot?

No, I haven't heard any reports, other than that it tended to throw a bullet slightly larger than spec (~.3850).

You could also order one up in any diameter you want from some place like LBT (http://www.lbtmoulds.com/moulds.shtml) or Mountain Molds (http://www.mountainmolds.com/). I have been tempted to give one of the LBTs a try but currently have too many projects going as it is.

    Ktw, Jjamna,

Buckshot ran the group buy. He is using the boolit in his current 38-55. I am also using it in my H&R Target. It drops about .383 from the mold.

I size to .381 for the H&R. I haven't shot a lot of these as I just finished my size die, but the first trial groups have been about 2" at 100 yds.

If you would like to try some, send me a PM and I'll get them in the mail.

    John
