    Hello everyone,

Picking up a mauser in a 9.3x57 it will have a 20 in. Mcgowan barrel 1x12 twist. Going to start off running 286 privi boolit,s in it.

Looking for more load info if anyone has some they would care to pass on, It would be a great help.

Although anything 9.3 mm interests me, the x57 is not a cartridge I load for. However, I've thought about it.

The 8x57 mm case was not traditionally loaded quite as stiffly as the 308 Winchester family of cases. If this was my gun, I would use 250 grain 358 Winchester data for H4895 at the Hodgdon website with the Hodgdon 60% rule, and work up from there to not more than 2200 fps with bullets appropriate to the cartridge.

My favorite bullet in the 9.3 mm family is a 270 grain LBT LFN GC design that Veral Smith cut for me. I run it from 1400 to 2100 fps in the 9.3x74R using IMR4895. I have no doubt that H4895 would do as well.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new gun. Tell us more later.

    Take care, Tom

If you check the Cartridges of the World book you will find the 9.5 X 56.7 M-S cartridge which is close enough to the cartridge you have to be able to make some judgements on powder charges, bullet weights, and powders, with respect to starting loads.

Every lawbreaker we allow into our nation, or tolerate in our citizen population leads to the further escalation of law breaking of all kinds and acceptance of evil.
Since almost all aspects of our cultural existence are LIBERAL in most states, this means that the nation is on a trajectory to dissolution by the burden of toleration and acceptance of LAWBREAKING as a norm, a trajectory back to the dark ages of history.

    Thanks Fellows!!

The gun should be done pretty soon, A friend of mine is also having one built. I think it will be a handy little rifle in the mountains.

I use the 45 gr. IMR4895 with the 270 great Speer and 36 gr. IMR4895 with NOE 280 gr. cast.
