    Attn Smith Collectors!!!!

My LGS has a 27-8 Nickle 8 shot registered Magnum with S/N RMC0002. Yes TWO.

I think tag asking $1800 but he's always been fair to me and liked to haggle.

Never shot in box with everything as it left the factory.

drop me a line if wanting address/number.

i have no dog in this fight. Just passing it along.

Of note, he also had a pristine ruger Deerfield in 44 mag.

OD - Because the Registered Magnums were made in the thirties, before the model 27 (officially), I don't think they're actually Registered Magnums. But yeah, for 1800 bucks - a steal would be an understatement. I think, back in the day, there were just called the 357 Magnum. No other model#. Wish I could afford just ONE !!!! Mike

" 8 shot registered Magnum" That sounds like recent manufacture??? Original Registered Magnums were 6 shot.

Yeah, the -8 sounds perty darn new, and that is ignoring the 8 shot feature.. I'd love an original registered magnum, but just can't bring myself part with what they ask for them.

I think this was part of the run of 500 a few years ago. It is most definitely not an original.

The folks on the Smith & Wesson forum could easily shed some light on this, a flood light, probably. I also believe this to be a newer gun and find the asking price a little high.

I would love to own a Hand Ejector or Registered Magnum!

Guys, I realized this from the get go. There were less than 200-250 made in nickle and this is number 2 in pristine unfired and come with box and docs. The box is an aluminum case BTW. In good used condition it would be around 1200-1250. Whether the price of unfired/box/docs is worth another $500 is TBD by the buyer. This was a Lew Horton PC gun reintro.

The nickel finish and the serial number are collectible attributes in their own right, some buyers will pay a premium for such amenities. (Nickel? I thought that went out with 8-track tape decks and gas at 35 cents a gallon). Now living 4 blocks from the crashing surf of the Pacific, nickel plating or stainless steel construction might take on new value for me. I'm pretty well-set on 357s, myself--to include a fine pre-27 x 6.5" that was a gift from a friend. The 357 Magnum is such a great caliber......the Civilized Magnum.

I would rather own a nice pre-27 than a "fake" registered magnum (for less money) !!!

Certainly "collectable" but a fine shooter as well !

GLL, I got to tell you what you have an absolutely beautiful collection of revolvers! Over the last few years I have seen a lot of your photos of them and the photos are always awesome. If I was ever going to auction a collection of fine firearms I would be seeking to employ you and your camera. FB

I've been thinking about doing some investing in such rare items. Is there room in the box for some Beanie Babies, baseball cards, and comic books?
