    MUCH Revolver ! !

I bought this one NIB this afternoon.( It pretty much wrecked my gun money account for a VERY long time)

I seriously doubt that this 5" barrel Super RedHawk will ever see a 454 Casull fired out of it ( by me at least.... ).

I have a ton of 45 Long Colt brass and about 7 - 8 nice molds for the Long Colt.

Should be a fun piece. Do you think that 8.5 grs. of Alliant Unique and the 454424 HP will split the cylinders on this one loaded into 45 Long Colt cases ? ?

This will probably be my primary cast bullet for the revolver.
The Lyman 454424 , HP'd by Erik with the Cramer insert.

This thing is a " Mean, Mean, Fighting Machine." Erik does great work, you can cast a pile of HP's in a hurry with this mold.

I don't think you could fit enough Unique in the case to crack that behemoth.

Yea, this thing is built like a tank ! !

The revolver comes with scope rings and an extra rear and an extra front sight.

I've got a mold that will cast 325 gr. HP's, I'm close to what you're describing.

Why buy a 454 and then feed it only 45 colt? Shoot some moderate 454 loads and leave the max 45 in the dust. The gun is heavy enough for that especially if you put a scope on it.

Very nice Ben! Still like the 454424 over other designs. 6.5grs BE is really nice load too.

Well you would be fine and then some with your load. I have a SRH as well in a 454 Casull and from my experience you will not have as good of results using 45 Colt brass with the shorter boolits. Although, I've had good accuracy with longer boolits while using 45 Colt brass, specifically 300 grains and above. If you do shoot quite a bit of 45 Colt make sure to really clean the cylinders before putting in loads put together with 454 Casull Brass as the part of the cylinder exposed due to the shorter brass is likely to build up with carbon, lube etc.

If everyone on the forum answered the question......

    " Why buy a gun......... ? ? "

We'd be here a very long time.

That is some good advice !

As to long heavy .45 cast bullets, Yes, this is my 2nd Super Red, Casull.

I shot the 335 gr. Gould HP with GREAT success out of my 1st Casull ( By the way, I don't recommend that the data below be used in any revolver other than a Super RedHawk 454 Casull ) :

    Thanks

Real nice Toklat you've got! I used to have the 7.5" SRH and it was a good shooter for sure, very interesting read on the strength of the 454 cylinder http://www.cartech.com/techarticles.aspx?id=1608

Does anyone know what that weird "upside-down" revolver Piper Pieralbo ("Annie Walker") flourishes in the "Covert Affairs" TV series? PM me, as I don't get over here too often anymore.
