    20 gauge load data

Hi all i am looking for a good powder and load data for the 20 gauge in a moss 500 rifeld barrel. i have the the lee 575-470 and a 575 round ball, this is my first try at slugs and round ball. I have done lots of reading, but would like to know what you all are using under the 20 gauge. I will be hunting white tail deer at 100 yards and under with this load. Thank you.

    I would suggest some research.

I recommend the research as well, star with a book like the slug manual from Ballistic products i think it has the lee slugs in it

I'm on the same quest, but I'm seeking reduced loads and using the Lyman "pellet" slug. I'm using Unique to load down for my 11 and 9 y/o daughters for reduced recoil. We're having good success with the Lyman out to 50 yds (farthest I've tested and farthest she'll be shooting at a deer) using 10 or 11 gr. of Unique, AA20 white shotshell wad, and the Lyman pellet, star crimped. This doesn't cycle the action on an 11-87, but has worked great in the Mossber 500 rifled barrel. I'm getting 2-3" groups at 50 yds and the girls are blowing up 2 liter bottles and quart oil bottles filled with water. Good enough for killing deer, but certainly not a the extreme limits of slug performance. I'm pretty sure a 1/2" hole drilled through the lungs will let plenty of blood out of a whitetail...
