I am going to imagine these are all standard lubed bullets? I see they are all 180gr range. I have a NOE 165gr ranch dog that I cant get to shoot at all out of my old stevens 30-30 bolt gun, wonder how it would do in an SKS. And some info on heavier 200gr bullets would be nice. I use the Lyman .311 200gr, subsonic and full power in 5 different rifles. I powder coat, so would hope up that velocity threshold?

You are running out of cubic inches in that x39 for real heavies. I have shot 242 grainers in that case but they only lumber along to the target. Larry's work with LVR works best in mine.

As nekshot mentions you'll run out of case capacity in the x39 with anything less than a 175 gr bullet, maybe a 180 gr. That's because it takes a certain level of psi for LeveRevolution to burn efficiently and correctly for the time/pressure curve. In the smaller x39 cast more bullet mass is needed than 165 gr to make that happen. However, I did not test PC'd bullets. That may make a difference. Let us know.

Wonderful to read this stuff. The level of acumen is great and begs for stepping outside the box. So many things to do and so little time!!

    Keep it comin'.

Pleased this came up again,I was in the process of loading 200 grain plus gc loads, had done 200 grains years ago with H4198,as I have Varget and H4895 I will try to extend the velocity a bit.
