    Anyone ever tried these ?

I bought a bunch of reloading stuff from a guy who was getting out of the game. Mostly 44&38 jacketed bullets and these came in the lot "Remington 240gr Lead".
I got about 3/4 of the box full in the deal and I really like how they shoot/load! I'm down to about 20-25 and want more or the mold that casts these. Anyone ever try em?

Never have, but I would send a couple of them to one of the mold makers on here and see if they can't duplicate it for you. Heck they may have a mold that already fits the bill, but if they shoot that well for you then you certainly don't want to lose that design.

Yes I can be long winded. Yes I follow rabbit trails. Yes I admit when I am wrong. Your mileage may vary.

Keep your powder dry. Watch yer Top knot.

I'd just check to see if NOE has a 240 gr GC SWC in that weight range.

I'll make sure I hold on to a few of these.
I tried searching this bullet and came up empty.
I'm not sure if it was a factory GC'd projo or not?
I'm assuming it was. This bullet goes right where you point it when sent out of the 629!

look at the rcbs 240-swc mold.
it's super close, it's also a gas check design.
there was a company that used to sell them [marvels airc] they come gas checked and with a moly lube quite similar to lymans moly, but not quite the same.
I think I still have 40-50 or so of them around somewhere.

That bullet was offered by Remington back when the 44 magnum was new. It came in factory ammunition and as a loading component.

Can you see a parting line on any of the bullets to determine that they are actually cast? Most big companies use swaged bullets.

Kinda looks similar to a Lyman 429244 240 gr. SWC gas check...

That bollit was swaged according to the info in an old American Rifleman I read. In full power factory loads I read that it left alot of lead in the barrel.

Dead soft swaged bullet used also in factory ammo, as stated above. That boolit would
blow up unbelievably on small game. A friend once shot a sitting cottontail in the shoulder with
one from a 7.5 bbl .44 Mag. Only the ears and one rabbit's foot was left, boolit just
disintegrated the rabbit - we had trouble believing our eyes, but it happened about
    1966.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.
