just take a drill bit the size you need, and drill out a cavity..... powder coat that, and let 'er rip!

the 135* nose angle should still pack on heck of a wallop, and you can tweak the length for stability

Ugh tried deleting before I got any responses. The twist would never stabilize it anyway, 250 seems about the max

My husky in 9.3x57mm with a 1x14 twist will launch 286 grain softpoints at just a little over 2000 fps. The moisin has a faster twist and should do better. the '06 used 220 grain bullets with the 1x10 twist. Frank

I believe mosins have 9.5 to 1 l" twist. That's pretty fast if you ask me

I've launched 240gr boolits from from my 303 Brit which has a slightly slower twist. These were supersonic. Nose shape affects stability more than one might think. I don't remember which nose shape does what. Some nose shapes require faster twist at subsonic velocities while others don't. Some shapes will make a boolit become more stable as velocity increases while others make the boolit less stable as velocity increases (in the supersonic range).

I am going to try a 235 gr ACE blackout design in my M28-76 just to see how it does. It is 9.5 twist. It already shows a preference for heavy bullets.

Yeah I was trying to get something in the 350 range, but even if possible the twist would need to be closer to 1:7, so I scrapped the idea. I guess if you want to shoot 45-70 you just gotta get 45-70.

Just a pipe dream. In other news if you run the 311440 real hot it expands to over .80", I was a bit surprised to say the least. Can't imagine what those people are gonna do with the hollow pointed versions, they're gonna waste a good 10+pounds of meat.
