    Need a brain cramp

Some intersting reading: *WARNING MAY HURT YOUR HEAD THINKING ABOUT IT***

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...kly+Newsletter

I especially like the answer about our GUNS not being artillery pieces and how they differ by Bryan Litz. I will be buying this book just to see if my head explodes.

My AR isn't an artillery piece? Blasphemy.

This is excellent reading. So much of what is "known" regarding ballistics is from study of artillery. Our projectiles are very different with very different flight profiles.

Great link Mike. Is it available on the MLRC website?

Oh, and your head will explode. Either that or you will fall asleep while reading it. That much math can be rather dry.

I like the part about "if you are closer to 3000 fps than 4000 fps" extra speed won't hurt anything. Sounds to me like 2400 isn't very different from 2800 fps.

I believe he did but it is only for use in his concealed carry gun. (he likes big guns err umm I mean handheld artillery)

No, your AR isn't.... basically it would need to shoot projectiles over a pound and have trajectory heights close to 10,000 ft. There is a lot of difference between artillery projectiles and small arms ammunition.... they are not the same contrary to what you read on this site.

Yep......... lack of comment indicates those folks know they would step in a pile of "something"... and it wouldn't be anything that smells good. Litz's new book will blow a lot of what's heard here (by some other prolific posters) into the sewer..............................

This is the kind of thing that makes some peoples head spin. I just hope it doesn't spin too fast......

Too much spin is bad. Truth is mo better.
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

We forgot to take out the trash in 2012, but 2016 was a charm! YESSS!

Are you trying to get a comment from a specific person, if so this is called trolling and had some rather sever consequences.

    I mentioned gurus, not guru.

many here have commented on over spinning bullets and the negative effects. This link merely points that much of that is overblown.

is it wrong to wonder what those people think of this?

at what point did asking a pointed question become trolling? That is exactly the kind of question that made this site what it was.

It becomes trolling when you try to call out a specific person under the guise of asking a loaded question.
