I am not crazy my mom had me tested
Theres a fine line between genius and crazy .. I'm that line
and depending on the day I might just step over that line !!!
I was wondering what to do with my huge Social Security increase !
when I am at work, and sweetie calls and asks "what are you doin", I just respond "Looking at million dollar guns and cars, while I am making peanuts"
That is one heck of a sight, and I spend a lot of time there. then I wipe up the drool and check my Production Summary, and back to the gun/car porn sights.
The rules of the range are simple at best, Should you venture in that habitat, Don't cuss a man's dog, be good to the cook, And don't mess with a cowboy's hat. ~ Baxter Black
For those of us that collect and shoot machine guns, that Julia Auction is truly gun porn. There are guns there that I have only dreamed about and certainly could not afford them at today's prices. I was truly fortunate to have bought all mine 20 to 30 years ago, and I thank the good Lord every time I shoot them for that good fortune.
I sold my Colt M16A1 to make the down payment on my house. I bought it in 1984 for $700 or so, and sold it for enough to make the down payment. That is how much these guns have increased in value.
I really don't know how the average Joe can afford them any more. Even a piece of junk MAC 380 or 9mm subgun is going for $4-$5000. I think i paid $300 for mine in the 80's. The Uzi that was a $1000 gun is now $10,000.
That collection should easily bring many millions of dollars. There are guns there that may have only two or three in the registry.
Astounding stuff....truly astounding.
Collector and shooter of guns and other items that require a tax stamp, Lead and brass scrounger. Never too much brass, lead or components in inventory! Always looking to win beauty contests with my reloads.
Let me see here...$1.51, $1.52, $1.53 Nope not quite enough yet, I will save another week or so and see if I can't pick something up at that auction. I am completely amazed at that collection, I would be in Hog Heaven, hear me, Hog Heaven!
Just to show that I'm not selfish, I would be happy with just that matched pair of sidelock 28 G.----Onceabull

I don't often forward links to multiple email *contacts* at once, but I did that one. Thanks!
A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.
I would love to see someone buy the entire collection of class 3 stuff and submit it all at once to the government. There is probably nearly a million just in tax stamps. There really ought to be an exception for this kind of collection if it is to be open to visitors but properly secured. What kind of money would you pay to be a member of a club that owns all that hardware and lets you shoot anything you have factory ammo for, or handloads providing you can cover replacement cost if damaged.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do. metalworker, woodworker, mechanic, restorer and 200.00 stamp collector
I had no idea that Evergreen had a collection, let alone was selling it. That's an impressive collection. They have one heck of an Air and Space museum, also. The photo in the link of the building with the full size jet liner on top is actually the water park, next door to the museum.
It's a well known rumor locally that they have some significant money/legal troubles of some kind, so it's no surprise.

I had to quit looking SSDI check just doesn't cover toys of that caliber!
I havn't had wood like this in 40yrs
I live local to the evergreen collection. Our local gun club arranged for a private tour of their collection before it was broken up. (actually twice)
My son and I have stood in the rooms where those pictures were taken, and handled several of those toys.
i have a picture of my son holding the 3rd or 4th Thompson in that row of Thompsons.
He turned the crank on that Gatlin gun.
It was a wonderfull tour, and as I told my son, something he may never get to see again.
Heartbreaking to see them have to sell it.

Part of the problem is that the collection was NOT owned by the museum. It was owned by evergreen ventures, which was part of the airline / air cargo operation. All the same people, but different separate companies. The airline failed, and was left with a couple million in IRS problems.
The museum does have a small collection( maybe 100 pieces) in glass cases in the main building, on the upper floor. Easy to miss in that area.
The collection in the main building is going to stay, but the bulk of the collection (mostly class 3) was kept in a private building not open to the public.
