    checking and sizing

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. I just bought a NOE 316299. Boolits are dropping at .316 I have gator copper checks. Sent thru a lee push thru sizer boolit bands come out at .314, what i am looking for. But the checks are .315 Sent them thru the other way after and the checks sized to .314 but the bands sized again to .313 Do i need a thinner check. Maybe different material.

Seems like the check has some spring back. Shoot'em and see what happens. Report back.
It ain't rocket science, it's boolit science.

Maybe send them through without a check, then send "them thru the other way after" with a check.

Anneal your gas checks first, no more spring back.

Yes, worth a try but likewise load and shoot as they are and see what happens.

going to try to anneal and see how they do. Just gotta figure out which method to try. I was wondering, I heard that some people have annealed case necks using molten lead. Could i put these in my melt and strain them.

Playing around this morning and tried water quenching these boolits. And then tried to size and check. They sized almost exactly at .3145. Including the check. Will lube a bunch for this weekend and see how they do.
