Until someone tests it no one knows. And even then it would be dependent on the mussel velocity, the alloy used, etc. I hope it would give at least 12" with some expansion but there's only one way to find out.

I just pictured a poor mussel flying downrange...

I'm gonna blame the auto-correct. Yea. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Anyone got 135 grain accuracy reports yet. Thinking about buying a leftover mold for steel challenge matches. 135 grains at 1000 fps should get me down to 9mm recoil levels while saving some lead every month.
    Thanks

I hadn't thought of loading the 135 down to 1000, thats a great idea I'm headed to cast some more now!! Thanks!!

I have done rather extensive bench testing of the large HP from my mold. My alloy drops at 136 grains and I am sizing to .401 with TAC 1 lube. I have tried BE, Unique, Universal, 231, and my personal favorite for cast boolits HS-6. I settled on 7 grains of HS-6 to an OAL of 1.090". I shot 6@ 5 shot groups which averaged 1.76" center to center off the bench at 25 yards. My eyes can't see the sights any better than that. The largest 5 shot group was 2.01". This is with a bone stock Springfield XDM 4.5" barreled plastic gun. I have not chronoed this load but it functions with standard springs in XDM, Sig 229, and STI. Recoil impulse is very pleasant as I have found to be the case before with HS-6. I use HS-6 in several 9mm loadings, too.
I have a single disappointment with this wide flat front design. The meplat is too big to function reliably in my STI Executive. The nose of the boolit just jams straight into the feed ramp (ramped barrel). Other boolits with narrower nose meplats work great in this gun.

I had good luck in my 10MM with the 135 and a light load of Bullseye. Lotta potential in this mold for target work and lead savings.

I tried these on a stack of wet phone books. 160 HP with 7 gr. AA#5 averaged 1026 FPS Click image for larger version.

Thanks for the report. What was the penetration depth?

It was about 5.5". The books were placed in a square 5 gal bucket. After soaking up the water, they swelled up so tight I had to cut the bucket apart to retrieve the slugs.
