1911 Ballistic Challenge We all know these devices shoot at 7, and 25 yards. Let's test the equipment and see just how good they are for serious work at 100. If you don't have a 1911, feel free to enter this masochistic event with any other service grade or carry type piece. Extra points for style. (5 rounds)

100 yard standing (stand on your hind two and shoot like a man)
100 yard benched (think of it as using cover; fence post, truck hoods and even shooting benches with sand bags are acceptable).
50 yard up close and personal division for those that don't have access to a 100 yard range. (stand on your hind two and shoot)
Pictures of large targets, or your tales of woe are welcome additions to this thread; feel free to tell your Ballistic Challenge story.

The 1911 Ballistic Challenge we run as an internet match. Post a picture of your target and the measurements right here in this thread. Enter more than once. Anyone without access to a camera or scanner can mail their target to me and I’ll post it for them.

    Bribes are welcome and encouraged.

    7.0 800X and HG68 at 100 yards

1911 accompanied me to the range today. Shot one string at my used 50 yard target to get warmed up and then this group at 100. (standing up).

100 yards looks like about a foot of drop compared to where it hits at fifty yards.

Am I able to use a 5-shot revolver for the snubnose division? I'm working on becoming proficient with my Bulldog because I plan to make it my carry weapon, and practicing for this would give me an excuse to load up a whole bunch for it.

Maybe try out my Yugo Tokarev in the blastic challenge.

Absolutely on the 5 shot Bulldog in snub nose division. In fact more than 50% of our snub nosed guns are probably 5 shooters. I'll make a change for that category.

Is it too late to get in on the 1911 shoot? I know, it is after Sept 2nd, but I didn't actually come across the shoot until now. I Should be able to try and get to the range tomorrow. I already know the outcome of the 100 yard standing, so instead I will be working on 100 yard Bench shooting. I will post anyways regardless.

BTW, for the 1911, www.DWbattlesight.com is perfect. I have seen these in use in person, and can not wait to order my own set.

Well, I didn't expect I'd win. 3.25" at 10 yards isn't the most amazing group, but it'll do for personal defense. Too bad the victory was by default. Surely someone on here could have done better than me.

LOL!!! I will have to post a completely clean Paper Plate!. I did horribly. Nothing landed on paper at 100 yards. It all landed about 3 inches to the right of the paper in a nice large 6 inch stringer going up and down I totally misread the wind.
