favorite full and mid range 41 mag loads?

    What's your favorite 41 mag full-power and mid-range loads?

IMR 4227 is hard to beat for full-boat loads in the .41 mag.

Herco, Unique, 800x have i used and they do well- and many more will besides- at one time all i used was 800x from mild to well hotter- look at the new Lyman reloading manual-- as for full power H110, 296, 2400, AA#9 all work well --likely you get the most velocity with the H110/296 but also more blast

For a nice moderate load, 8.2gr Green Dot with a 210gr LSWC. Out of my 6" M57 pleasant to shoot and very accurate, I have no problem shooting offhand under 1 1/2" @ 15yd.

Lyman 41032 COWW, 8.0 gr Unique for plinking and target, 10.0 gr Unique for hunting for my cast loads. I used Sierra 210 JHC with 21.0 gr WW296 in a S&W M-57 6" to drop a bull caribou at 173 yds. in Alaska a few years ago. I love that load.

My Ruger 41 61/2" bbl shot very well. I used 18.5 gr. #2400 for full power loads, 8.0-9.0 gr. Unique in my medium loads and 3.0-3.5 gr. Bullseye for my Bullseye matches. Bullets were two, Lyman 41026 (I think), a 215 gr. SWC, and Lyman's 199 gr. full wadcutter. The full wadcutter was used with the Unique and Bullseye powders. In 1970, I won a 300 bullseye match with that Ruger single action with a score of 256 out of 300. The famed lawman Bill Jordan awarded me my trophy.

Thanks, everyone. Lots of good info to start out.

I'm going to try some 210 swc's out over 8gr. Unique. Let you know how it goes!
