I had some skidding issue sin my .303's with several boolits until I started oven heat treating. That pretty much solved it. I figured it was the 1:10" twist of the Lee Enfield because I have not had this happen before.

Your 1:7" twist is pretty quick so I bet harder boolits would help. Water dropping is easy and oven heat treating isn't much harder plus you can harden already cast boolits and they get harder than water dropping.

    Its worth a try.

I use IMR 4350 in my 7mm Ram Mag, I did a bit of reading and research and found this powder was
liked by a lot of shooters for this round. As I do not have a lot of money to buy 3 or 4 powders
to test with I went with this powder.
I took the 129 gr "Crayola of Death", sized it down to .285 for 7mm.
I knocked of 20 gr of weight to come out at 110 gr.
All targets were shot at 25 yards, I am not a great shot and today was bad.
Point of aim on the first target was center, 2nd and 3rd were center top.
All loads show I might have a good chance of using this boolit in my 7mm rifle.
The bigest bit of info I got was no tumbling at all, these were shot into an old cooler panel.
Clean hole from front to back, panel is 4" thick.

I do not own a chronograph.
    7mm Rem Mag
    Browning A Bolt 1:9.5 twist
    OAL 3.23
    25 gr IMR 4350
    Target squares are 1/2"

    30 gr

    35 gr

How did the resizing go? any issues with deformation?

How did you knock off 20 gr of weight?

Resize was easy in my cast Lee press, the boolit lost 20 grs by getting shaved by the Lee sizer.
There was a lead doughnut left on the pusher of the tool.
