    Moding a mold

I was looking in the Lee catalog amd found this mold.

I had the idea of getting one of them and cutting the bottem drive band off. This would be for the use in a 380 ACP.
So I turn to the many great minds and mold makers here!
Would this be a viable idea? The catalog notes that it is a good boolit for 9mm so I dont think that sizing it down would be a problem.
    Thanks for any input.

You might try shooting it as is first. It is a good little shooter in 9mm or 38's. Might just shoot well in the 380 too!

    380 Bullet

    MelW,

I used the Lee 95 grain 9 Makarov mold and resized with a Lee Push Through sizer. One mold takes care of both the 380's and the Maks. I also use it in a 38 S&W Webley.

I was looking for a lighter boolit. That is why I was thing of cutting it down.
I might just try it with out moding.

I just looked at the Makarov in the catalog. Do you find that sizing it from .365 to .356 is a problem?
    Thanks!
