    Range report on PC

Went to the mountains over the long weekend and shot off a few hundred rounds....all PC.

We did "target practice" on 16 & 20 oz drink bottles filled with water hanging from a wire on a rope about 50 yards up the canyon. Would have gone farther, but the trees blocked line of site!

Was shooting my 357 Carbine with 38SPL loads. One favorite was a Lee 158gn SWCTL with 3.2gn of E3 behind it. Iron sites only. 1st shot would hit low on the bottle. 2nd shot would blow the cap off. Out of the 1st 50 rounds, I did that to 22 bottles! Amazing PC accuracy for iron sites.

Another one was my 45LC carbine (iron sites only) with 6.2gn TiteGroup behind a Lee 230gn 2RTL. Lots of water bottles met their maker that day on the 1st and 2nd shots!.

    I love those guns.

Of the 6 guns I shot (darn near 400 rounds total) there was NO LEADING. One quick swab for each gun with a brush dipped in Hoppes and 2 swabs with patchs and all was perfectly clean. NO PC or no crud of any kind.

I did have some black gun powder residue in my 45LC Circuit Judge shooting 133gn PC's roundball with only 2.4gn TiteGroup. Such a light load will be dirty, no matter what powder you use. But really fun to shoot. The ball made more noise hitting the rocks and trees than it did leaving the long gun!

For those of you out there still fence-sitting about PC......COME ON DOWN!

All boolits were done with HF colors RED and BLACK using ESPC and/or BBDT, baked 10 min @ 400F.

Tried to recover some, but the rocks ate 'em!

    Good shooting!!!!!!

Big +1 on the PC! I have recovered 40SW boolits shot at 930 fps and 300 BLK boolits shot at about 1000 fps. all had coating intact after impacting berm at 100 yards. Better accuracy than alox tumble lubed and no leading! Need to try and recover some 7.62x54R boolits at 1500 fps.

    That's great to hear.

Now explain what ESPC & BBDT stand for.
