    700x

I picked up 15 lbs of 700x yesterday for an unbelievable price of 24$. Anyone ever use it for pistol loads?

I'm using it for reduced load's in just about everything.

    Use it in 45ACP, 44 mag, 9mm

I've used a bunch of it in .38 and .45. Love the accuracy, low recoil, and low cleaning factor. Outstanding score, would you care to double your money?

It works great for all auto pistols
    Also good for revolvers.
I was given 15# of it a few years ago.
It seems to meter best through my RCBS Little Dandy.....dale

I worked up a beautiful load for my 9mm with plated pills. Checkout Sierra's 5th edition for load data, hogdon's is quite conservative. About to start working up 38 special.

    That's a score!

700x is my favorite powder for cast 9mm loads. It's an excellent pistol powder.

It's all I use for .38's, got a Square Deal that does nothing but chunk out 158gr. SWC loads with it.

That is a proven target 12 gauge shotgun powder for over 40 years. And while I still use it for that, it also works great in 9mm, 40 and 45 ACP. My Lee pro 100 doesn't meter well for target 38 special but for a plus P 38 and 125 grain lead bullet. 4.2 grains works well. This is also my load for the 9mm with a 125 grain lead bullet. 4.5 grains is what I am sending a 230 cast lead slug in the 45 ACP. works great. Also, 700X is hard to find in anything over 1 lb. containers. The 15 lb. steel jugs have not been available since shortly after 9/11. The biggest is 12 lb. plastic jugs but everyone is out.

Its great stuff, rifle, pistol, or shotgun. The older Lyman manual has a load for just about everything using it and I have tried a lot of them with good sucess. Its also a good keeper if kept cool and dry. 15 pounds will last you a long time. Good score on a great powder

I also have been using 700X in the 38/357 19 years. It was the first powder I used when I started reloading at 15 in an old taurus 357. For a kid with a only a summer job the price was great, I could shoot a lot of cast boolits with those 8OZ cans. I now run it in the 45ACP and many more too.

15lbs for $24.00? geeeeze I wish I could find some at that price.... If you were loading a 45acp at max load you would have enough powder to load 21,000 boolits. Even more if you were loading a 9mm You may want to stock up on primers!!!

I called it the "Grey Ghost" powder when used in my shotguns. After a night of skeet shooting 3 or 4 boxes my barrel would have a grey dusty coating as long as a foot back from the muzzel. It did the same dusty thing with handgun shooting over a 2 or 3 box shoot. Good powder, just a mite dusty.Robert
