Nicholas the U.S. is lessor of a country with the loss of your father. To me he represented the very best your country has to offer. Felix and I never met as you know but we did do our business together from afar as if we lived next door. Speaks to the quality of your father. I will miss him.

    Thank you for this post.

    Nicholas,

Thank you for sharing your family with us. Your father would be extremely proud of this and reflects greatly on the type of parents you were blessed with.

A much-needed brief biography, thank you for putting it together and sharing. I know many folks here have expressed interest in knowing more about the man who rarely spoke of himself.

The Egg Nog recipe, together with the simple yet crucial explanation of how it works, is one of my most cherished gifts from your family through your father, and became a Christmas tradition in our family as well several years ago.

    Nicholas,

Thanks for sharing a bit of your mom and dad's life with us. Your dad had a profound impact on me early on here, and not just as a fellow shooter, reloader and caster--but as a man who always strived to do and say the right thing and stand up for his principles.

Every body else has already said it, and I can't think of a different way to say it, so I'll just be repetitive.

Thank you for a wonderful read!
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,

I had a great respect for Felix after being here not quite a year now. I loved reading his posts and he always turned up when i would research different things here. I feel the loss inspite of not knowing him.

Thanks for sharing the things you wrote about him. He will be missed even by newbies like me. You could tell he was a fine man and it certainly seems like a fine family too.

God bless and keep you all.....35shooter

Estalio/Nick - thanks for sharing with us - the internet is a strange world in that you can miss someone you've never met and be a true friend to one in need of guidance - I appreciate your taking the time to fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge of a friend.

By the way thanks for posting a link to this thread on Tim's posting of the '92 your father ordered. I assume it will be used by the family with Felix looking over it.

    Excellent. Simply excellent.

We have all learned something today, and also found a tribute to our mentor.

    Thank you.

    @artful,

The 41 Goodsteel worked over for Felix will definitely stay in the family along with the rest of his collection. I'd be a disservice to him not to keep it and use it.

If the weather and lighting is right, I plan on taking it white tail hunting and getting my first deer with it in honor of him.

After what Tim did to it, it's probably the best shooter I have, but where I hunt is heavily wooded and I've run into issues with being able to see deer @30 feet clearly in the woods with iron sights. Last year I was hiding in a fallen down tree with my Winchester 92ae in 45colt when a herd passed by a stones throw away before sunrise. I couldn't get a safe bead on the heart as they blended in with the brush/leaves. A scope would have been beneficial in this case as they discovered me and moved on by the time it was light. Needless to say, I was at Denney's having breakfast by 730am as they didn't stick around.
