I just use alox. After the patch is dry, i roll it in a thin film, push it through the appropriate sizer, smear a touch more on the outside, and stand it on end in a pistol cartridge box til dry, and then store, or load, as needed. I've a bunch of the alox, so, it solves my problems. mikey

alox is the best. i use it on blackpowder cartridege , and pp muzzleloaders, and even use it on pillow ticking cloth patches for roundball muzzle loader. it seals and grips the bore and protects. it the very best.

today i sprayed some camp dry water repelent on some paperpatched bullets that didnt have any lube on them. let them dry good. the paper looked and felt more slippery so i shot a few. shot real good but so does the alox and no lube at all. seems to have some merit though.

If I may ask; why do you feel you need lube on the patch?

Listen! Do you hear it. The roar of cannons, the screams of the dying! Ahh! Music to my ears!

............I've used atomized Moly aerosol before, as well as Midway Mould Prep, which is graphite I believe. Both in a volatile carrier. As with any spray you have to apply it to the patched slug before seating. I didn't see any accuracy difference using it, but the test was neither scientific, nor detailed.

Those paper rings will not be formed if your brass cases are long enough to fit your chamber.

By alox are you referring to the lube Lee sells?
