Well, it looks like my work is finally going to let me have a bit of a life again so as long as it doesn't rain I should be there. I hope everyone doesn't mind but I'll have my two kids with me as the boss lady is volunteering that day and the kids love trips to the range and, for some reason, spending time with their dad.

I'll be there also, my brother just happens to be in Payson that weekend from California so it works out well for me. And as Grumpa said my range is about three sections of clay hills just outside of town. Don't think I have ever been to a formal range. This ought to be fun however.
Also I was informed that my wife will be coming with me. I believe the conversation was something about me telling her my plans and her telling me she would find a babysitter because I can't do anything that fun without her.

Artful - mabe you could take the lead and volunteer to call those guys up there on Friday during the day to see how the road back to the range is. With rain everyday, it could be a real mess.

Then post a comment on here later Friday.

Hope weather holds out, but I have been up north too many times in the summer and know how those backroads can get...........pretty fast!

Great looking place Art. $5.00 to shoot is a real bargain.

I use Weatherbug and Yahoo Weather on my iPad, iPhone, and all my computers.

You can type in the ZIP of the area and get VERY local detailed animated maps for just about anywhere. As well as hourly, daily, and 10 day forecast "guesses"!

This time of the year, I keep one open in the background all the time to check for incoming storms and haboobs. Yes, they show up very well on the IR and visible radar maps!

Give us a heads up when you arrive. Possibly a few of us could meet up.

I'm still uncertain about the Payson get-together. I'll do my best to attend.

The "forguess" on WeatherBug looks clear and dry for today and Saturday!!!!! Guess all those anti-rain dances you guys did really worked.

So...............does anybody want to ride with me in the morning? I can take 2-3. If so, we need to meet in BassProShop north parking lot at 7:10AM tomorrow morning.

Let me know by PM with your cell #'s. Or I will just head right straight up from home.

Does anyone know about shooting arrangements...targets, spotting scopes, benches, etc up there?

    See y'all there!

    Guys

Much to my dismay I'll have to be "square" and won't make this trip. Was planning on the 5th Whl being fixed ($10,300 worth of road damage from Florida trip this last February/March) but it's not done yet. Would be a 6+ hr drive for me one way which is too much for this old guy to go, shoot, eat, BS and then drive back in one day. Would have to spend the night and nothing is planned.

Hope everyone has fun and I'll try real hard to make the next meeting.

Well....I know I'll be there, just got done rinsing off the truck, been a couple of years. I still need to get ready in just a few, I think I'll bring some things, what I don't know just yet. Plan on leaving between 6:30-7am so I should be there just as or after they open up....Matt

I've been watching the weather patterns all week, with the exception of 1 day most rainfall has been in the latter part of the afternoon.

Well good news and gooder news:

Good: No rain so the kids and I will be there.

Gooder (yes I know it isn't a word): The place that my wife was scheduled to volunteer at called her off and she's coming too.

Gooderest: RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THE WHOLE CLAN IS COMING!

We're planning on getting there about 9am.

    Jr.,

My wife and I are members there. The target holders are on skids, so you can place them at any distance you wish, out to 100 yards. Rifle and pistol shooters can shoot side-by-side.

Just my luck! I managed to get off work this weekend and mama gets called in. She enjoys shooting as much as I do and I wouldn't have much fun, knowing she's stuck at work. Maybe next time.

I was planning on bringing my M14 to let you guys "test drive", hoping to entice one of you to take her off my hands. Oh well, the best laid plans......
