Looking at how many I've gotten from a can of HF red, I'd guess a pound should last a while. How much volume is a pound of this premium powder taking up? If it takes well to dry tumbling, I'm interested.

This is going to sound incredibly dumb but i don't know anything about powder coating.

Can you coat cast as well as jacketed?

I've never seen anyone coat anything but cast. It's supposed to be a substitute for wax based bullet lubes, so people don't generally do it to jacketed bullets.

Not trying to be smart here ..You could coat a jacketed bullet but the question would be why ?
This is primarily used for coating bare metals .. works great for cast bullets

Picked up powder this morning .. man is this stuff light .. extremely fine powder taking up much more space than the HF powders.. Really did not connect that with I got the small samples to test....This is going to coat much more bullets than HF

I have pics of 6.5 x 55 groups going 1903 FPS very accurately
308 at a little over 2000 FPS
458 socoms and 45/70 at over 1600 FPS ..
These are all Gas Check Bullets WITHOUT checks and coated nose down
so yes if you have a good fitting bullet you can get there

I can get about 7 Lbs of HF red in a large Coffee Mate cream container.. we had a very hard time getting 3 LBs of any of this powder in the same container.. This stuff is going to go a very long way !!

OK here is Pink and Green PC'ed Bullets
as another experiment I tried Chinese soup containers to shake these ..Actually had too much powder on them but just wanted you to see the colors
