checking interest in $10-11.00 a LB hi quality powder

This is just a preliminary feeler for interest in Hi quality Polyester PC Powder
have been working on a local supplier and finally got someone willing to cut me enough to hopefully make this work to all our advantage ..
Right now I am looking at gloss black and gloss red..

packaging is the big hold up ..
Zip lock Freezer bags are cheap and fit into a priority mail box real nice (double bagged of course and will of course hold the price down to min levels
If I have to get screw type containers you are adding at least $2.00 to the costs plus will make the packages larger and probably cost more as well ..

So I am asking if I can pull this off and ship in double plastic freezer bags for $10.00 to $11.00 a pound plus shipping of course would you be interested ?

Perhaps in a blue or a zombie-ish green. I'm pretty happy with HF red, but I do want other colors.

I will have access to all kinds of colors if I can get this off and running .. Right now though need to concentrate on getting him a decent order of black and red so show I can move enough to justify him working with me ..
Probably need to place at least 10 lbs of each soon .. if I can do that he will open up other colors and I have no issue stocking 5 Lbs each of different colors here later

I'll be interested if you test them before hand and say what sticks well with what method. I'd like a blue, and a white that sticks better than HF white, both via dry tumbling.

    Hi quality Polyester PC Powder
Yes it depends on DT & performance. USPO may get POd if one breaks. I can just see them with powder all over their fancy optical sorting machines.
    Whatever!

So far I have only sprayed mine.. so the DT will be a learning experience

That's pretty close in price to All powder paints prices. A couple bucks under. They charge a flat 6.99 shipping rate up to 4 lbs I think. That being said you would definitely have an edge if someone could buy small amounts (like 1/4 pound) to try or you knew which colors work with each method.

Zip Lock bags are fine by me .
I'm interested if the DT tests go well. I could add black, green and blue but don't use a gun.

You know it would be good to maybe make up mix of powders as a kit - 1/4 pound each of 4 colors or something similar for those wanting to experiment.

This is a great idea!! A 4 color, 1lb kit would give you a strong advantage vs having to buy 1lb of one color and have it not work out. If the powder proves legit and this deal comes through and you put together something like the suggested multi color kit, you'll get some of my money! Can we ask what brand the powder will be?? Looking forward to the tests no doubt!

I have no issue doing 1 lb (1/4 LB each) 4 color kits ..
asked for samples of Gloss red, black, blue and white .. just waiting on them to deliver to me ..
as far as brands he carries many many colors and several different brands .. This is a very large powdercoating shop..
Hoping sample bags will come today or tomorrow.. know they have been very busy getting several large contracts done and shipped off

I would be only a extremely small small customer compared to the business they do .. so can't be too demanding just getting started with them ./.
Guys hang in there. I think we can have something really good here just need to tread lightly in the beginning

Just tried it with Crossman high impact .25 Gram graphite gray colored (they look black) Airsoft BB's and 2 teaspoons of HF Red.. Just put in about 10 158 Grn 357's swirl for count to 30 then same for up & down and got nice full coverage
This will make all those little 22 and 6 MM bullets so much easier to coat and get Full coverage

as soon as sample powders arrive this afternoon I will try shake and bake for all 4 colors probably try about 10 of each color.. shake and bake then post results

Ok finally got samples of the Hi Quality Powder ..

The powder is super fine... much much finer than HF and appears finer than what I got from Powder by the pound in Traffic orange ..

All I can say is the pictures will not do the final product justice..

I tried 2 batches of HF red last night to familiarize myself with the process .. I was not pleased with how they turned out ...learned some things .. had to shake for about a minute and then shake again to get coverage .. then they turned out to be lumpy probably... shoot fine .. just did not look right

This powder on the other hand started to stick as soon as I dropped bullets into it..
I did NOT clean bullets .. handled them barehanded to put into powder . swirled to the count of 30 then shook to count of 30 .. then picked out with small side cutting pliers and stood on old used nonstick foil.. baked for 12 minutes at 300 degrees
The Black, Red and Blue came out looking very close to sprayed PC ..The white was not as smooth and that may have been from me not drying the bowl well enough after removing the HF red then washing.. seems like I made most of the mistakes on the white .. as I did them first .. again Keep in mind this is only the second time I tryed the shake and bake Method.. I am learning as I go

the ONLY parts not covered were where I drug the too small pliers off the bullets trying to stand them on the foil or I hit them with my hand trying to stack the next row.. NO spots on any bullets were not covered by the powder when I removed them from the tub ..
If you look at the 1 pic you will see spots on the white bullets .. I was picking then up at the nose .. figured out after looking at them I needed to change so I started to pick them up in the lube grooves ... worked much better
Note to self get bigger pliers ..
All in all I am very happy with the new powders ..
I will start buying this in quantity and will sell to fellow casters
will be offline mostly tonight (honey dos) but can answer questions tomorrow
