    Lightbulb Hard wax for lube

I've been reading about lubing and noted some are looking for hard wax to use in their mixes well my friends the hard waxes are readily available from jewelry supply sources and they are used in the "Lost wax " casting process here's a source...

Personally I'm going to try the 45-45-10 mix as it looks quite handy and a lot less messy.

Bet that would work ok in a dip lube mix

Maybe some beeswax and STP thrown in

45-45-10 is an excellent lube as is. I don't like lube all over the bullet nose so I dip lube. I have two Ranch Dog molds and dip lubing works quite well, as well as other lube designs. Some will complain that it's too slow, but I guess I got the time.

I have that wax used for lost wax investment casting and it apears to be a large % Carnuba wax. I also have 100% pure Carnuba and it melts and acts very similar.

The main component in JPW lubers are after is the Carnuba wax. It is very hard and melts at a much higher temp than parafin or beeswax.

Speciality wax sheets like that are rather pricy for making lube. You would be better off to just get some Carnuba. Most woodworking stores sell it. I got some from Woodcraft sometime back.

The wax around cheese is NOT carnuba as many seem to assume. That stuff is very sticky/soft and from what I tried a year ago, it does not work in lubes. I now PC all my boolis but messed around with all kinds of brews and formulas for lubes earlier.
