    Mutton Tallow interest?

This is serious sheep business so please save the Sheeple jokes for another thread

I'm on the hunt and am on a hot trail of some Mutton Tallow-Non Food grade or Food Grade

Is there any interest if I can buy extra?

Please post if you have an interest. This could be a long road I'm going down so don't expect any soon. Sheep go to markets, markets that change with the wind and the wind changes all the time.. The stars have to line up for this to work.

I too ordered mutton tallow from Dixie Gun Works. The mess that arrived had a very strong rancid smell and was very mushy. REAL mutton tallow is nearly oderless, very firm in texture and will seemingly last forever in this state..as I have run across some I had stored in basement for over 10 years..this was rendered by myself from sheep & lamb kidney fat. If Randy can obtain the real thing this would be a real deal.

Not sure what might have happened to your batch---------the two containers i recieved were solid, near white with a little "tallow smell" but nothing was rancid.

Obviously quality control is lacking at the source.

Randy, i'll take some say 32 OZ.---------good luck searching

    In for a pound.....BvT

Mutton grease was a prime ingredient of late BP lubes for Schutzen.
Every lawbreaker we allow into our nation, or tolerate in our citizen population leads to the further escalation of law breaking of all kinds and acceptance of evil.
Since almost all aspects of our cultural existence are LIBERAL in most states, this means that the nation is on a trajectory to dissolution by the burden of toleration and acceptance of LAWBREAKING as a norm, a trajectory back to the dark ages of history.

Or New Zealand - they love their sheep over there .

Actually, I have no idea if you can actually buy mutton tallow here (I made my own. The suet fat is apparently the preferred source material). I keep mine in a small shed (no refrigeration), and it has gone through a stinking hot Summer, of abnormal heat waves, and shows no sign of deterioration. If it goes off then I would say it's not pure Tallow.

If someone can get the "real deal" it's worth buying a bit. While it's not difficult to make, it takes quite a while and is a lot of messing around.

I would be interested in at least one pound. I searched a couple of years ago and finally managed to get some in very small plastic cups. They were very expensive and I think I have one left.

Properly made tallow will store unrefrigerated indefinately if nothing eats it.......I might be in for a pound or two of the good stuff, just because I cannot help myself.

I have heard that one does not need velcro/fences for sheep loving, all one needs is a pair of tall redball boots, but that is just what I heard. I think the feller that told me that was from Montana.

If it is the real deal, white, hard and not rancid, I would be interested in 3 to 5 pounds.
