    Lucky day, almost perfect.

Got a call from an old friend of mine the other day and he said he had some tomato plants for me. He lives about 35 miles from my house so I thought I would get started early and do a few other errands. I stopped at the town along the wayto buy a lottery ticket at a grocery store and just down the road was a Wal-Mart and thought I would stop in and look around. Over in the ammo case there were 3 loose bricks 550 Federals. I called the clerk over to open the case and asked him if 22's were going to be in regularly now. He said the guy and his wife who are there a 3:00am didn't show up that morning, that's why the 22's were there. I bought 1 brick so I could make somebody else's day too. Got over to my friend's place and he had some Cherokee purples and German stripped plants for me. He said his Aunt stopped over a couple of weeks ago and asked him to sell his uncle's guns. His Aunt told him to keep the money for himself, for all the help he had given them over the years. He showed them to me and I asked him what he wanted for the Savage 29B. He said $250 and I asked if he would take a check. Almost perfect shape original finish and only a little bluing wear on the action bar.
The only thing that went wrong was the lottery ticket didn't win.

Nice rifle! The vintage stuff oozes quality in a way most new made things can't compete with.

I'm going to have to say SCORE!
That's a nice looking gun and you're a good person for not grabbing all the 22s.

Back to the walmart story, one person usually buys all the 22 ammo from that store? where do they sell it?

Most likely at gun shows. Last one I went to the Wal-Mart $18.00 bricks were going for $55.00 to $70.00 and the surprising part were the people actually buying them.
