I am not looking for exact match just thought if I could find a close match it would be nice, also there are all kinds of colors out there but I need one that's works with Tumble coating. I just don't have the money to experiment with brands and colors and thought someone might have found one that works.

This is what I used on the ones in my picture:

(I had some free Amazon gift cards so it didn't matter to me on price.)

That was electro-plating. Involved process that produces a very paper thin layer of copper. NOT like the FMJ's you buy. Probably faster to PC/paint them.

Yea I knew it was a super thin layer. Factory FMJ are actually swaged. I was just mentioning it for if he wanted exact color.

    Hey WallyM3,

That penny gold looks like it might be just the ticket. Please do let folks know the results when you are able to give it a try.

OK, I'll report back. It does look promising for the mission.

    That's no fun!

Do I detect some racial undertones here? I like multi racial boolits!

This is "Penny Gold". Taking into charitable consideration that this is my first time with this mould and my first try at PC, I think that the color is a near-OK at best.

It is billed as a transparent color. Needs more gold.

Ummm...did we ever discover the powder that makes up the best copper look?

  13. #33
On a whim not intending for this outcome I bought some Eastwood bronze powder.

Coated nose down my 30 caliber bullets looked just like JSP's

But it's a color that seems to go on and stay thin so I just use it now mixed in with HF red just to use it up

What's that? The part about being thin?

Yeah. And not the right color, either.

Maybe he shoots at an indoor range which allows plastic jackets, but he doesn't want to constantly explain that his ammo is actually jacketed (with powder coat) to every interfering bystander?
In the market for a multicavity Mi-Hec 9mm HP mold.

    I presently cast for .380 ACP, 9mm, .38/.357, 30 cal and .45 and 12 Ga slug.
I am particularly grateful for the help I have gotten from members Red333 and MSRdiver, and OLD Para (who made a crazy mold on my design!!!!!) as well as excellent guides by Recluse for his ideal lube process. I have been experimenting with poly coating too.

PM me if you know of a very cheap source of birdshot, or an efficient way to make #4 Buck.

I like the idea of that just for aesthetics. I will have to look into that for a future order.
