    Pedersoli Sharps range report

So, today I fired my Pedersoli Sharps at a target for the first time. The previous outings were just to make sure it functioned and to familiarize myself with it. Now that a bit more snow has melted I decided to get a little more serious and actually put up a target. Was my first time shooting a rifle at a target in close to 2 years, and I don't remember the last time I shot iron sights at a target...many many years! Here's the results:

    5 shots
    100 yards
Hand held off bench rest support (rifle in my hand, hand supported by rest)
still 405 grain lead Winchester cowboy ammo (no cast boolits yet )

I'm VERY pleased with this as a starting point! Looking forward to trying out the Soule sight I have and getting a globe sight with inserts for the front. I wouldn't hesitate to use this if an elk wanders through this fall now that I've had this result. Looking forward to many years shooting it, and the adventure of casting and building up a load for it!

Good start after such a long break!

This is a group I shot at 100yds with my Pedersoli a 545gn cast boolit and 68gns of Swiss. I've found BP loads to be more consistant in chronograph tests than smokeless.

I have a Shrarps Berdan in .54 cal. It shoots great. The Pedersoli barrel looks like a mirror inside. They make one of the smoothest, most polished bores I have ever seen on a rifle!
