Ok Sax, conjure up a vision of this Star. You have truly arrived once you have a few of these running. How can anyone call themselves a boolit caster without at least one?

Yes pour it on why dont you... Mind you, call me sick, but I quite like sitting with my lead pot alternating two six cavity molds. As I recall I used to get a good head of steam up!

Well, use it some more before you try powder coat, and put it up for sale.

I don’t want to powder coat. I want to smell the lube burning and see the smoke. Anyway, I’m not sure about these new fangled ideas, painting bullets and the like. Where will it all end? Never saw Dirty Harry loading his 629 with pillar box red ammo… cant beat the basic elements, lead and copper being two of my favourits!

Err, maybe it was playing to itself in the background. Never noticed really.

Bit like the time when the wife caught me going into the bathroom with a copy of Playboy. She said, “oh yeah, you can’t fool me, you’re hiding a copy of Guns & Ammo in that Playboy mag aren’t you!”… yep, caught bang to rights!

Don't blame ya. Every now and again I get nostalgic for the smell as well. I can live without the smoke.

    saxguy,

Whatever you do, don't go to the ballisti-cast sight and look at their lube sizer. Then you'll have to have one of those as well. So don't do it, don't go there, don't look!! Stay away from this website:

    http://www.ballisti-cast.com/

Just because the Star sizer dies fit it and it's very fast, doesn't mean you want one as a partner to your magma star! So don't go there whatever you do!

Welcome to the magic, er, ah, madness.....

    Not me. I don't have one................yet.

I fear I will experience this same problem. Guess I'm going to have to build a climate controlled shop to do this in. Its funny how much money you spend in an effort to "save money"...
