Maybe it's just my computer, but the picture is small and impossible to read.

Rework of a net fake which was ostensibly on a sign in Alaska or Canada, warning
    about bears.

Funny, but fake. There are many reports of bear spray working for griz, but there is
a serious problem if you are far from a car or building since the bear is only deterred,
and may come back. I once talked to a Canadian timber worker that had successful
stopped a series of repeated griz attacks with bear spray. He headed back to his truck
after the first spray, but had to deter the bear twice more before he reached the truck,
expending the last of the canister relatively near the truck.

No clue if you would want to use pepper spray on a lion, but it would be ahead of my
Swiss Army knife and harsh language. Personally, a .458 rifle would be my 1st choice.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.

There is another problem with bear spray and high wind. I read of two gals camped on an island that a bear bothered all night, they temporarily blinded themselves when they attempted to spray against the wind.

Jack Hannah nearly got ate due to that circumstance here a couple years ago.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Funny. I've seen it before, but it was for bears.

I've heard of bear spray working, but I've heard just as many stories of it not working.
I carry a big bore pistol.

Birthday card to me from Daughter that she got at a Hallmark store. Picture of a griz sitting up with a raised paw and an open mouth. Caption says "Hope nobody else gave you a mauled carcass"? Inside card caption reads, "I kept my reciept"! I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes!Robert

I've heard a 25 auto is the best bear protection. Shoot your buddy in the foot and run like the wind.

There was a sign like this in MT near the East Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park dealing with Grizzlies. Not sure who put it there looks official enough, but very funny never the less.

When I was working down in South Africa I remember seeing a news article that Zambia was losing 30 people per month to Crocs. They had fenced so much of the land that the Plains Game couldn't get to the water holes where the Crocs were and just watered where cattle did. The Crocs would crawl under the fences and wait by the roads for someone to come along. For a short stretch they can top 30MPH. As one of the guys I worked with would say "this is Africa man".
