every body needs a good friend who listens well and sticks with you. looks like you found one in your chow. my wife laughs when i talk to my two toms like people. they are my friends and listen well. help me garden and love the rabbits i shoot. the third in the house tom stuck to me like glue when i got out of the hopital last fall half dead. he knew i was in trouble and helped me through it. thanks for the post.

IMHO arc welding has no place around guns. TIG welding is the preferred method although I have seen MIG used on bolt handles.

Reminds me of an Aussie fitter I met while working on an instalation at a mill near Melbourne. He had a beard down to his belly. I asked him how he welded or burned anything with out catching himself on fire and he said, very predictably "@#%& off ya *&%$ very carefully" We had a few beers later. Good looking pup.

Ok I know what you meant there so I know I am going off on a tangent here but I want to take this opportunity to once again try to dispel this well know but EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MYTH!!!!! Drinking milk WILL NOT PROTECT YOU FROM ZINC POISIONING!!!!!!!!


This old welding myth has been around for eons and has been the cause of many people getting sick due to drinking milk then taking a chance on welding galvanized metal in the mistaken belief it will protect them, it won't! I know there are people who will still argue this works but how they can believe that coating the stomach with milk is going to protect them from a dangerous systemic toxin inhaled into the lungs is really hard to understand. Sorry for going off topic there but I have seen two people during my career become seriously ill from doing this and have heard of many more, this old wives tale is dangerous and needs to be debunked at every opportunity.
