    Cool Toys

I remember these from when I was small.

I was willing to give up a future male child for one but never got one.
then I came down with the pox and a neighbor lady with no kids surprized me with one.
But mine was a Man from UNCLE set.

SO what toys did you dream of when you were 8.

I wanted a go-kart from the Sears catalog! I can still remember the picture and the layout of the page. This would have been about 1959! It was $86 back then, a fortune! Never got one, but it was a nice dream.

wow, I can hardly remember yesterday. I do remember really wanting a bb gun, a green machine (sort of like a big wheels), and a You-do-Ball set (mix powder and water mold and cast your own super balls). I got the bb gun and You-do-balls

I also remember a Mould Master. Got to mould my own toys and learn about fill out, leaving a good sprue and making sure the mould halves fit well toghther.
The plastic was hotter than lava and stuck to anything with skin. But is sure was fun.

Would be a great toy to introduce a boy to casting - without the lead.

I am from a younger generation than some of those toys, but I did have a Megatron(Transformers) that turned into a Walther pistol. I wonder why that version of him did not make it into the new movies?

All I wanted (age 8) was to be allowed to use Dad's .22 to shoot gophers! Took me two more years to convince (nag, pester) him into letting me have it!

The Zero M is a little before my time, but my older brother had , I think, the folding rifle one..

In my day, I wanted a Johnny Eagle military set. Don't remember what it was called, but,
the big game set was called the safari, or something like that...

    Yep, me too.
If I remember correctly they were about $200 at the time when I saw a friend on one in the early 60s.

I know - I made a few HW rigs, quite a few meters and test equipment.

Never did make the TV though, a friend of mine did.

Had the TV in my high school electronics shop. Did not work when I joined the class, I had it up and running in a week. Was used to keeping my dads old 1965 Zenith color set going.
