Nice !!

Persistecnce pays off. You sir, did well. Congratulations. Now take your time scraping, stretch oval, then decide, to sell or make something. This back breaker brings back some memories.
P S. How do you know it's a female? (not making fun here, ok)
I like the name of your dog.
Congrats on the Blanket Beav! Not a common thing when I was trapping but with fewer folks trapping now maybe it will become more common!

That is one nice size one.keep it up.With what they say about fur prices was up there was alot out trapping at the start of the season but found out alot had stop after the first week. The game was not out there like alot was thinking. Also not many gose after beaver for all you have to do to get them and then put them up.In time you will get alittle fast on skinning and put them up.just take your time and you will do good.it is not how fast you can skin them but how they come out after all is done because when you sell the furs there is some things you can do to bring the price up and that is how you put them up.the thing you can not help is if it is long or short fur.I had some that I got in Nov that was big but the fur was short due to age but had some that was nice long fur.

Now to get it fleshed and stretched.
I spent many hours in the late 60's trapping, skinning, fleshing, and stretching beaver. You do get real soft skin (and sweat smelling skin) from their fat.
Go now and pour yourself a hot one...
That's a really nice looking pelt! Are you gonna eat the carcass? Saw it in the photo, and it looked nice.
I have eaten beaver carcass before make sure that the fat gets trimmed well. Thighs and backstrap go down OK.

I am going to try it but I have not worked up the courage to do so. One of these days......
You cook it up like beef and like was said trim the fat and you will be good to go.I like that better then beef.and there is not much fat on it also.Ever beaver i get i always save the meat.BBQ the ribs is good also.If you make bugers with it you will need to add some thing to it to make it hold together because it will not hold to well it will at time fall apart. It is the heathy meat there is.
