'Made a few 357446 from a new (to me) mold this weekend.
I thought this mold had a wider front driving band than the one I had. I was wrong. Now I got two of the same one.... dangit.
Again, they're speckled 'cause I still had just a little leftover blue powder in the cup.
KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.
they look cool! I may have to start tinkering with PC.
beagle those are very nice! im just getting started on powder coating.
It's 52 degrees, 83% humidity and I couldn't wait any longer.
Got the brand new ES gun out of the box (HF) and found my homemade stray booth (box with a garbage bag inside of it to collect overspray) and gave it a try.
.
Started with some red with a bit of yellow--left over from tumble lubing (second row)
Next was HF red (front row)
and finally HF matt black (great name for a TV detective)
.
All got baked in my $19 Wally World toaster oven.
.
Got to say I'm really pleased
Gun worked right out of the box.
Did note that not much was happening then all of a sudden the bullets would be fully covered--don't know if I feel asleep or what was going on but no problems--I know what to look for now.
Tried the epoxied nuts on the plate--no a fan
Next was putting the bullets nose first into a reloading tray and turning them over onto the plate--much better. I was able to get down to the bases even with then close together.
.
My SASS buddies weren't crazy about the jelly bean colors--I think the black may win a few over.
.
What appear to be voids of PC is the reflection from the flash--just saying

Well, I bought this off'n an ol' boy on Evilbay. He sells motorcycle parts that are this color too. And he's kinda secretive about his source, but 'best I could find out from him, and by comparison, it's this:

:EDIT: I decided my last pictures sucked, so today I took them outside in the sunlight, and believe I was able to capture better images...
Oh, and I want to mention, take a look at the 40cal (round nosed ones). I don't load those yet, so just quickly used the dies w/out setting them up properly and look how it scrunched up the PC! I assume that's the seat/crimp not being set correctly. :EDIT:
These are solids and combinations of HF and AllPowderPaints powders. I'm having a blast trying new colors/combos. I haven't actually shot any yet so maybe I should stop spraying for a bit and get to the range I've shot ones I dry tumbled and they worked fine. These have sized in Lee sizers w/out losing any coating, so I guess I'm hoping for the best
Thanks to everyone for info, ideas and inspiration. -Brad
