    Star Wear Marks

Does anyone know what the wear marks on the lube tube of this star are from? It looks to me like the fulcrum bracket has been moving on the lube tube, but that part don't move.

I think somebody just cleaned it up with some abrasive paper, maybe had some surface rust?

It looks like someone rebuilt it.
The marks are from them taking it apart and sliding the parts off the tube.
Notice the fresh looking paint on everything.
Also to my knowledge they never painted the heater cover.
