been trying to look that one up but cant find what twist it is, do you know? could be on the barrel
seems to be pretty fast, I measured 3/4 of a turn in 24 inches. which comes out to 1 turn in 30 inches. looks I might have a slug gun.
I have 2 diferent molds for Minies and a mold for R.E.A.L.'s
this rifle is very lightweight, bet it kicks brutally.

Same rifle as a bobcat, just a different name. .54 cals were 1-38 twist, .50 was 1-48. Ive never owned one, but they get mixed reviews. most CVA at the time was outsourced to spain and cheaply made. But I have seen several reviews from owners that say they are a good shooter.
In my experience most cva barrels are good shooters, it is their locks that are lacking.... I like buying cheap cva's and putting the barrel on a Deer Creek/Numerich style underhammer frame....save the good and toss the bad that way. The 1/48 twister 50's seem just love the lighter LEE R.E.A.Ls in my experience.
this gun will shoot cast boolits and a sabot that shoots a .451 250 grain pistol bullet. should be easy to work up a load for and be a powerful tack driver. have fun with it.
well if it is the same as the bobcat , they were not a bad gun , I have an older Traditions version of the bobcat called the DEER HUNTER in 50
try 60-70gr of real black powder behind a patched round ball I bet it shoots about an inch at 50 yards , and put venison on the table
mine liked 320 reals also
they kick how you load them
just because we find new people all the time who don't know a muzzle loader needs to be cleaned the day you shoot it , even a stainless should be.
