    Lyman 287405

Just bought a Lyman , SC, 287405 to try in the 7 X 57 mm Mauser and a Rem. 280. Can you save me some primers, powder and time and offer some accurate loads with this bullet , assuming you've had experience with this one ? ?

These were fired with a full caseload of WC872 from a 1897 Rem RB. Rifle is fully 'as issued' and completely equiped with a trigger needing a come along to make it go. Range was 50 yards and the velocity was 2450 fps. The M98/08 Brazilian Mauser shot them a little better. clean burning.

Not the same boolit (RCBS 7mm-168), but just as info. Fired at 50 yards, full caseloads of the powders indicated. Velocity shown. These were shot with the Brazilian Mauser.

Another excellent load with those powders is 42.0gr + dacron for 1775 fps. Kinda dirty, but no big deal. My favorite plinking load is 21.0 H4198 + dacron.
