I haven't seen any Unique in months. But the price you saw seems to be about the going rate for all powders in eastern Wisconsin

Bought 2 one pounders of 2400 (thank God!) at a LGS, paid $22.95 a lb which I thought was more than fair. They limited you to two to try to prevent the hoarders. Also got a pound of Clay Dot to try, never used it but wanted to try it in 12 ga 3/4 oz skeet loads. That one was only $19.95.

Got my first 8lb jug of red dot. been using 1lb bottles up that we stocked up on years ago. Am down to my last one so I picked up a 8lb jug up at Camp Perry this past week. One of the vendors had at least 1 pallet of 8lb jugs of bullseye and unique up there for $139.99+tax iirc. I might go back up and get some 2400 since I just noticed I'm down to my last 2 lbs of that as well.....all the vendors were out of SP primers (some had magnums but that doesn't help me) so I'll be in a pinch until I can get some primers from my dads. Why did I think a progressive press was going to be a good thing?

    oh it is.

    don't overlook those magnum primers.
my favorite 357 load is the 358091 on top of 6 grs of unique and a sp magnum primer.
it cut's super clean holes real close to each other.

The Gander mountain sale flyer came today. The big sale is imr 4064 for $29.99 per pound.
Fairly easy to beat that price anywhere.

I'll try that one perhaps, I've been working with wadcutters on and off. My 2 4cav 358091 molds are damaged and need repaired. I have thought about getting 2 lee 6 bangers to replace them as I purchased them heavily used, I also have the 160gr type III wadcutter mold 358432 in a 4 cavity my guns like. I'll try the magnum primers I think dad has some. How well do those work with lighter loads like the 148gr wadcutter and 2.7 of bullseye?

The LGS has some old powder they bought off of someone. I picked up two sealed 1 pound cardboard tubes of Red Dot (first time I've ever used it) for $15 apiece. I also got a sealed, still wrapped in paper, metal, 250 gram tin of Alcan Super W Balistite for $10 just for the heck of it. Can't find any data for it, but I'll do what I can to work up a safe load.

I haven't tried magnum primers with the lighter/faster powder charges.
I ended up with a bunch of them from somewhere and started working with them and the somewhat slower powders as that just made sense to me.

Bought an eight pounder of Bullseye that came to $22 a pound. Decent pricing for this area. It was about $16 more than if I was to only order a single jug from PV. I'm set at this time. 231 has been elusive so I figured I'd use Bullseye instead.

I've been looking at all the online retailers but none have all that I want. One more jug of H110 and 231 and I'm completely done buying powder
