At the show in Lexington KY this weekend there were three vendors with powder. 8lb jugs of IMR were about $180. 8lb of Promo was $169 and Red and Green dot were $209. I saw one jug of Bullseye for $219 and one of Unique for $299!

I bought a jug of Longshot because it is my best choice for 460 Rowland and it looks like it might be a good choice for cycling heavy subsonic in 300 blackout. At $170 it was the 'bargain' of the show.

Everybody had 296 and there was one jug of H-110, but still no 2400, which is what I am really looking for for cast rifle shooting.

After two years of searching, finally scored two pounds of Reloader 7 at my local LGS. Was $29.99/lb. I've been wanting to try RL-7 in my 444 Marlin chambered in a 98 Mauser action.Click image for larger version.

1 lb each CFE pistol and CFE 223. I'm trying some of the new stuff as it seems easier to find then the old standbys.

I grabbed some Be-86 yesterday too. [I think it will end up in my 357 lever gun]
I also went down the line getting some 8lb jugs of 4064,3031,h-110,bullseye,and h-322.
it was a pretty good day.

They had a jug of 3031 as well but I passed on it.....for now. I'd love a jug of 231 and 296. As well as a jug of 8208 XBR or CFE223 or BLC2

Bought 4lb of Commercial #1 BUT DIDN'T buy a pound of 5744, LGS wanted $43.95! The young lady at the register said, I have to warn you these have gone up, I respond how much, she told me the price and I said oh heck no! I wanted to try it in 308 as Lyman's 4th list it as the best load in all but one boolit weight, but not at that price.

Midway had it back in December, shipped from Western Powders in mid Jan, but... the confirmation I got said it was shipping to my house. Forgot that I had set it up to ship to my work... well, ex-work now.. lol

So I had to wait til one of my ex co-workers was passin by and could drop it off for me. Happy Camper now!

    1lb of Bullseye @ $19/lb and 2lb of CFE223 @ $25/lb. Hadn't seen Bullseye since 2000, figured I couldn't go wrong at that price.

Got me two pounds of HP-38 for $22.95 each at a local shop today. This is actually a little cheaper than it was in normal times. Anybody like this powder in 9mm with the Lee 356-120-TC?

This is the results of 3 visits to my lgs in 10 days, no Bulls or 231 alas but I think I did ok.

The prices were acceptable,,, considering the drought we've been through these last few years.

The RedDot was the most coin at $26.95 and the other 2 were $24.99 per #..
i.m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round..... i really love to watch them roll ,,,, J,W,L.

    ferguson:
depending on what you want as far as speed and such start at 3.7 grs and move up in .1 gr increments.
I like 3.8 [cause that's where the boolit and sights intersect] but have gone up to 4 with cast and a tick more with jacketed.
I shoot my 9 as a smaller 45 acp mostly, so the 3.7-3.8 loads are in the 850fps area.

Thanks. I really like 3.7 grains Bullseye/Federal primer for 1000 fps out of my Glock 19, I wonder how easy it would be to duplicate that with HP-38?

you just need to add a little more.
the 231 burns a little slower so you'll have a longer time to push the boolit.
with a 125 gr cast boolit 4.2 grs should put you pretty close to the 1-k mark.
