Lighter charges can be done safely as long as you remember to shrink the available volume. Do your light charge and then fill the air space with a filler so you still have a 95% fill. I do it with the 500 mag by cutting a .5 cardboard disc to push down onto the powder then a couple 410 felt wads to take up all the space in the case.

I'm glad to hear that the powder situation may be improving, none here in my neck of the woods but it will filter down sooner or later . The ammo situation is about back to normal except for the pricing which will probably stay high ?

Oh yea I will be waiting out front, hopefully she has a meeting that day, we both work from home haha I had not seen a keg of 4759 for months, I had never used it, and I want to get kegs of all the discontinued IMR powders.

**Boaz - I am buying online, it is too scarce and too expensive for me to buy retail here in Reno, I have to drive 45mins to get the store, then pay a premium of 30.00 per pound, 41.00 per 1000 for CCI/ REM/ WW primers.
I did the math it is cheaper for me to buy online and ship and long as I buy enough pounds to spread the hazmat, I think in total the 4759 keg was 180.00 shipped, I think thats very far in the current market.

Powder Valley, Keg was 140 something and the shipping was 9.00 and it shipped same day. Yet, Im eating ramen and beans and rice this summer. I am waiting on a client check and it is late or slow, these are lean times.

I wanted both so I went to Natchez. Got some 4759 to duplex some loads at $23/lb and a keg of 4064 for $169. More expensive than Powder Valley for 3rd Gen, or Recobs for that matter, but with the HazMat I wanted to get it in one shipment. Still, grand total was less than at the gunshow I went to a few weeks ago

About the only thing I see under $150 anymore is Promo and I have 3 kegs of it. If I saw 4759 for your price I would have bought it and bypassed the 4064 only because 4064 seems to be more available.

I wish we here in the UK paid your sort of prices for powders, bullets etc!
IMR and Hodgdon powders here are approx £40-45 per lb (if and when we can get them!) hence why most folks are using Vhit powder @ approx £65 per kilo. (about $48.50 per lb)
I put this little lot up for sale a couple of days ago and was offered £530.00 ($875.00) in a matter of minutes!

3 lbs 800-x. Shotgun powders are endangered species so I'm taking what I can get.

Got one pound (the limit) of CFE Pistol. It was that or Titegroup and I have no experience with fast powders and am newer at this so playing it safe(r). Not much cast boolit data on it, though.

A friend of mine is moving and is divesting himself of many things. I bought an unopened 8 lb container of Accurate 2015 for 80.00. Never used it before but felt it was worth it to try, probably in 300 BLK.

I bought two lbs. 4759 and one of 3031 @ $25 each out the door at lgs. That brings my stash of 4759 to about 6 1/2 lbs. He has more coming and I will keep buying.
