I've just bought what would be half kg of H4198. I've been wanting to try some for quite a while but thought I could get by with 4227. So I finally got some plus a half kg of Varget.

Saturday I bought a 4 pounder of W-296, that should do the Hornet until I can't get the #1 up to my shoulder anymore.
Sunday I was gifted a 1 pound can of ancient H-4831(pre-zip code mustard yellow and black can). It had been bought new and kept in the house, it looks in perfect condition.
Just have to figure out what to put it in. Don't remember ever using.
I was wrong, it's a red and black can, the mustard yellow was H-380 can that has 4831 in it, also from the same vintage.

2 lbs titgroup and a brick large rifle primers
Had a 9mm day at the gunshow a couple weekends ago. Traded a Taurus I didn't like for a Star BM. Next row over I see this dusty jug of AA#5. Seal was intact so dickered down to $45. It burns good so will keep that Star running for awhile.
Soo
I bought 16 pounds of this powder.

Picked up 4 lbs. Bullseye, 3 lbs. of 2400, a pound of 4198 and a 9 oz. can of Trailboss Sunday. I was offered it, didn't really want it. At this point I'm beginning to have concerns about shooting up what I have. Offered him $50, figured he turn it down.
He carried it over to my truck for me.
Gonna have to start shooting more......
Skeet and dingers this past Sunday, skeet today, 22 RF tomorrow, skeet and sporting clays Thursday, varmint shoot Saturday.
And the wife says I never do anything constructive
what load data do you use for that cbi pistol powder, can it be compared to anything we know, bullseye, unique, no 9, etc.
price sure is good
Came across a shop that usually doesn't sell reloading supplies - but they bought stuff from an estate sale and there was a bunch of powder. Some of it's a few years old. but the cans looked good and the powder seemed fine. Had a whole variety of stuff. $15 a pound.
They had 8# of HS7 of all things, and a bunch of wsf. so 10# of wsf and 4# of HS7 went home with me.
would "how many primers were you able to get today" be less ridiculous?
Yesterday (9/3/20), Bi-Mart, La Pine, OR I did my usual cruise past the gun and ammo counter. The powder selection is getting very thin indeed, but I acquired one jar of two remaining IMR 4227 and one of the two remaining 100 packs of CCI shotgun primers. The guy behind the counter said, "I'm glad we had something you could use." Almost no handgun ammo of any caliber in stock, no .22 L.R. ammo. Still a good supply of the Winchester ball powders.
Went to the gun show in West Palm Beach FL. ARs that were $400 in Feb were $750 and up. I saw a line of people sitting in chairs waiting to fill out paper work, must have been 20 or more. Bought a 1LB of H4895 for heavy bullet 223 loading.
Is there anyone using this CBI pistol powder? How does it meter, got any chronoed data from it in 357 or 45 auto. Looks like it is used as an igniter charge for 155 howitzer.

Didn't buy any powder today. Stocked up on reloading supplies when before the craziness.

I stocked up too, but went to a gunshow in my old town of Plains, MT. There was a young fellow selling off a large stash of powder. Red Dot, Bullseye, Unique, 2400, & AA9. Was even a "new" pound of 4759 (I don't use it but a friend does). Good prices. Would of bought more if I'd had more money. Just to help out the youngster you understand.
