recently, while out of town, on one of my trips, for work, ya know, I stopped at a supply store for reloading supplies. there, in a dusty old box, under the shelf full of new powder, was 11, yes, 11!!! pounds of Scot Brigadier 4831 powder!!!! after some bargaining, it ALL went home with me!! Never can have too much 4831, of ANY persuasion!! and, it was VERY reasonable priced. Still sealed, cans in excellent shape, and stored in temp and humidity controlled magazine, to boot. Sometimes you get lucky.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

Picked up an 8 lb. jug of 2400 for $130. Plus 5000 WLR primers and 5 bags of #9's for me.

    Plus 2, 5 pounders of RL-15, 1 H-380 8 lb., 1 8208 lb. and a 1 lb. Benchmark for buddies.

Last of the group buys at dealer cost at the club, distributor is getting rid of their semi-too much red tape and liability to continue to run one single truck.

Bummer, it's been great being able to buy components at a discount.

Picked up (2) 1# canisters of Hodgdon Hybrid 100V since they were 15% off, and already significantly less expensive than my usual IMR4350 and Varget. I’ll be doing some ladder loads for mine and my sons 243’s, 25/06, and 6.5 CM. If they do as well with our hunting loads accuracy and chronograph wise, I may make the switch since they are on average $5-7 less per pound without a sale.

Storage of Propellants - a Suggestion:

I have been making Surplus 20mm Ammo Cans into 'legal' storage containers for my Propellants here in California.

I have been using 1/2" nominal Marine Plywood to add two layers of fire resistant liner to the inside of the 20mm Ammo cans. This leaves room for at least 5, one pound powder canisters standing in the bottom an one or two laying on top of those in each modified Ammo can.
Also one pound Black Powder rectangular canisters fit three abrest across th enarrow inside dimension and three rows along the longer dimension with some room left over for another canister at the end and space above them for a few others laying on their sides.
Here in my City, County, and State the Home storage limit is about 25lb of Black Powder and some similar limit for Smokeless Propellants when stored in fire resistant containers.
I also store primers separately in a plywood lined 'Fat 50 cal' Ammo can.

These containers are NOT Stored inside my Home, but are secured in a separate shed in my yard.

Immense score last weekend: a sealed 8 pound jug of 4759! Had to fork over $200 for it, which I gladly did. (And he threw in a pound of L'il Gun and two pounds of 2400!) Life is good once again. Gives me almost 20 pounds of 4759- it should see me through to the end if I'm careful.

Sportsman’s warehouse is having a sale on 4 pound containers of WST. I got mine for $59.97 before tax.

It is an “in store” sale. If your store doesn’t have it then they won’t ship it to you or transfer it to your store. It seems that they are discontinuing the four pound sizes of both WST and WSF.

The other day, Sportsmans had 2230 for $149.

Bought a pound of Accurate #9 the other day for $19. They had a 20% off sale on powders/bullets at Murdoch's ranch supply

Just arrived in the mail: 8lb Shooters World Match Rifle, 4lbs of Green Dot, and a pound of Blue Dot. Oh, and a bunch of primers to give that stuff a kick start.

Haven't bought powder in ages ... I need to get out and burn up some of the powders that I already have on hand!

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

I managed to find a 1# can of HS-7 and a 3# can of Winchester 571 last week. My pistol/shot shell habit is good for a while

My local range (Knob Creek) is getting out of the reloading game. My shooting pal and I ended up with a 5lb. Jug of Trail Boss each. So we now have more Trail Boss than we will use. 2 5lb jugs for $93.00 each.

    When I speak of:
45-70: that is a 45-70 Uberti 1885 High Wall Rifle
357 Mag. Rifle: that is a Uberti 1873 Carbine

I just picked up a 4 pound container of Herco for $49.97 before tax, at Sportsman’s warehouse. It seems that a corporate bean counter has decided that 4 pounders are slow movers, and they are discontinuing them.

Herco is not a powder I have used before, but I have found Herco load data for most every caliber that I load.

Found 5, 1 pound cans of Accurate 2520, not all stores carry it around here and it works too well in my 204 to try and find a different powder. With the 4 I have it should last me a long time.
