What Powder Did You Buy Today?

I came across this little rarity at the Nashville gun show today. Fair price so it came to my house. I honestly tried to give someone else a chance to buy it as I walked away when I first came upon it. 30 minutes later it was still there so that was a sign.

With the powder shortage what have you recently come across?

Got a fiver of RE 7 and RE 19 this year. I'm happy with what I have on hand now.
You will learn far more at the casting, loading, and shooting bench than you ever will at a computer bench.

I went to several stores and even a gun show and have no powder or primers to show for it.

Made a trip to Simmons Sporting Goods in Bessemer, Alabama.
They're usually loaded with powder and primers.

I picked up 2lbs of Varget and 300 CCI LR primers

I haven't had any trouble getting powder since this "shortage" started. Every time I go into the LGS he seems to have what I want and usually asks "how many do you want"? The only powder I had to do anything special with was order ahead for WW296 and got it in a couple of weeks. I still had over a pound on hand so I never ran out. I think the only thing going on has been no one wants to carry inventory.

4# of AA#9. First time using it and seems promising so far.

I got an 8# jug of SR4759 delivered to my house today from Midsouth/UPS. (around $175) I read that the company isn't going to be making it anymore so this should keep my K31's fed with cast bullet ammo for the rest of my lifetime. I plan to also use this for mid power plinking ammo for my 450 Marlin.

I'm trying to consolidate my powders for most of my full power medium rifle stuff and IMR4320 is going to be my go to propellent for .223, .22-250, and .308. It even works great with 75gr bullets out of my 25-06 (3700+ fps). I've had really good success with working up suitable loads with this stuff. Not sure why it's such an overlooked propellent but I'll take it.

H4895, Varget, and 300MP to try out. I hate buying it by the pound now, but I will take a few here, and there to fill my need. We are our own worse enemy when it comes to availability.

I managed to find some talcum powder this weekend. Does that count?

Sounds like you went to the wrong section. Try sporting goods...

I was having luck till a month or so ago, now I can't find anything but magnum rifle powder.

I just got into the .300 Blackout and I have a half pound of 25 year old IMR 4227 and nothing else suitable. I've made a full list of about a dozen usable powders but a half dozen trips to Cabela's and the LGS's have turned up nothing. Plenty of primers, but they don't do me much good with no powder.

Tax return season is upon us. Expect the shelves to be bare until mid summer as everybody "stocks up" with their tax returns. The Christmas shopping lull allowed what you see hitting the shelves to actually hit the shelves.

My tax return wont even buy me a tank of gas. It was a whole $44. Imagine my surprise which my accountant told me that. I was expecting about 20 times that.

    Somewhat on the bright side...
I just got in 2 lbs of IMR 4759 from Brownells. The other 8 were backordered. We all know what that means....

I picked up a pound of IMR-4350 at Cabela's just because it was sitting there lonely on the shelf with only some H50BMG keeping it company. I was running low after discovering my .30-40 Improved liked it.

When are you going to jump on the heavy bullet and Retumbo or Ramshot bandwagon. I'm getting 3110 FPS, very minimal vertical, and outstanding accuracy out to 1,000 yds. I get sooted necks even after I've annealed multiple times, but the accuracy, SD, ES and vertical are so fantastic that I'm not changing anything.

ETA: I'm not even at the max charge.
