Have you tried the new LEE tl356-95-rf in a 9mm yet?

I had to look it up. It looks a heck of alot like the Ranch Dog 358-100. I've had good results with the Ranch Dog boolit in .380, 9mm Luger, and .38spl.

I was wondering if it would work the slide enough to be dependable without souping it up. I was thinking to try it in my wife's S&W Shield which uses the same recoil spring in the 9mm and 40 S&W.

Depends on what you call souping it up. The Lyman cast boolit handbook gives loads in 9mm for the Lee 102 rn that should work fine for this boolit. The velocities run from 1080 to over 1300 fps.
I would think the slower load would be very mild.

Yes sir, I love it! I load it in both 380 and 9mm. My LCP loves it.

I cast up almost 300 already. Unsized, Im loading with a small charge of RedDot. Mine are tumble lubed in 45/45/10 and allowed to dry overnight. I'm also applying a plain based gas check to some for a milder than normal load in 9mm. Loads like they were made for each other.........lol.

Looks like I need to get one of these. It sure will stretch out my lead supply. I will get 15 extra bullets per pound of lead over the 120tc.

I don't have that mold but one time I purchased 1500 Makarov lead bullets (RN95gr). I decided to not pursue the makarov loading so I sized them to .358" and have been shooting them in 380 and 9 Luger.

In the same vein I mold 160gr 45's to conserve lead.

Becky and I also dig out our ex-business paper berm every year and remelt the bullets we find.

After pretty extensive experiments, I settled on a 95 grain bullet (358242) loaded over the minimum charge of Bullseye (3.9 grains) for 9mm practice / plinking. It is very accurate, hits very close to POA, and does not lead the barrel even with range scrap bullets, I think because of the very low pressure (about 20,000). I suppose the Lee 95 grain bullet would have similar properties. LBS

For posterity, I'll add that 3.9 grains Bullseye with the 358242 95 grains was touch too light; the action did not always function. Almost out of Bullseye, I tried this bullet again with Universal. 4.9 grains Universal is working great. LBS

I have been using this boolit and a medium load of Titewad with excellent results. Good accuracy, perfect function, and low recoil.

I didn't want to leave that too-light load data sitting there for newbies to find. By the way, how do you find time to post on the internet. Why aren't you shooting that new Model 60-4 right now!?

I am retired and in the process of moving. While I shoot the 60-4 as often I can, I need to take time to do the other necessary things.
Being retired, I have time to do a lot of things.

Now that you mention it, I should probably load some 38 specials with the 95 grain boolit and see how they shoot in my 60-4.
