I watched the previews and the old man is shooting left handed with a right handed shotgun. What gives, I thought these guys are rich??? lol

A "rich" guy doesn't stay that way by spreading it around!

The 10-22 he was squrriel hunting with looked like it had wintered in the swamp. He could just be comfortable with what he has.

I think he's been shooting the same A5 for most of his life. It works for him.

I dont watch the show that often, but the one thing I notice over the years, the only thing they spent money on
    was camo and vehicles

Being rich doesn't require you to be spendthrift. Frugality is a virtue.

I could afford a left-handed gun but I'm used to right-handed bolts now.

I know some guys who would buy the newest, fanciest, and most expensive just as a status symbol.

I'm a believer in " If it feels right and shoots where I point it, then I'll keep it no matter how it looks".

I worked for a multi millionaire who used his incoming mail envelopes as scratch paper, even to the extent of opening them up from all 4 sides.

Many times the rich got that way by saving money in various ways.

This is the reason I'm inclined to believe Phil Robertson is the real deal. He's a bona fide millionaire. Yet, he lives in a modular double wide house, shoots weathered A-5's, handi rifles and the like. Once in a while he will shoot a nicer Benelli (sponsor!)
His boats are ragged and well worn like most everything he has. He's happy (happy happy) so why change? I mean how easy could he afford to contract with Holland & Holland to build him some shotguns? He could drop a half million on a couple of them and never miss it. You'll probably never see him near one.

I have complete respect for someone like Phil. Sam Walton was the same way.

We're too used to "Lifestyles of Rich, Idle Celebrities." Seeing normal people living normal lives on TV is a shock.

It looks like Phil has the family values thing working to the third generation anyway. None of those grandkids are spoiled brats and when one of them got to driving age, they looked for a good used pickup truck (at a low price) for him. If they were the kind of family that shows up in People magazine all the time, they'd have bought him a Ferrari and told him to quit bothering them.

They're not into guns as conversation pieces or collectors' items. They're tools to be used.

Phil still uses the razor his father gave him. It's a bit dull after all these years.

I have seen episodes where the men were duck hunting. All of them were good shots.

I bet most everything that family owns is paid for with no monthly trips to the bank.
