    .32 cal Ball-et Mold?

Has there been a production mold made to duplicate the Buffalo Arms Bullet .32 cal "Ball-et" Boolit? It appears that Buffalo Arms is no longer supplying this bullet.

    Regards,
    Everett

    Everett-
Do you have a sample or two of these? This is something several people with the 32 Crockett rifles would probably like. A pound die to swage these could probably be made fairly easily also. With a sample, I could run a GB for it and/or give dimensions for a swage.

I see if I have a couple of these left. Once I locate them, I'll PM you for your address. Thanks for the offer.

I would love one of these for my crockett. I would be in for a mold. I have 2- 32 cal muzzle loaders. Would there be a lube groove with a hollow base? I am thinking a 2 cavity would be plenty but would take a 4.

Is this the ballet everyone is thinking? This was posted by jjamna a few years ago.

I'd be in for a group buy on a .32 cal mold but would need notification of it here.

It appears to be a 70 grain bullet. Would it be possible to cast with an existing .32 auto mould of similar weight, and then use a pound die? I also wonder about a press mounted swage die? I have no experience with this, just wondering.

The idea of taking .350" balls and swaging them to .310" to .315" appeals to me. This would give you a 66 grain ball-et with about 33 % (+ or -) more mass than a standard .32 ball. Seems to me such a swaging die wouldn't cost nearly as much as a specialty mold.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

    Bardo-

Yes, that is the one. I too would like a mold as opposed to a swaging die. I reached out to 45 2.1 for an address to send him a couple of samples. My thoughts were a mold to replicate the dimensions and incorporate "Minnie style" lube grooves instead of the knurling.

The mini style lube grooves or the tumble lube grooves may (or may not) work as well.

    I responded..............

Now guys, you all need to decide if you want small lube grooves, Lee tumble lube grooves or minie style grooves. When you decide, you need to provide a picture showing it well for me as I have my own ideas as well. That is if you want a mold. If this goes to a swage die, you could put knurling on the boolit with a fairly simple tool the swageing guys use.

I am not a fan of the Maxi's but I did order one. I do like the ball-et better. So if you guys do something I am still in.
