    I am very interested but have a few reservations. Call me silly but I see the issues with the 75 gr NATO mold and it concerned me. I thought I saw at one time where someone suggested a mold, and then cut a prototype and made some bullets for testing, before the mold went to production, so would something like that be possible ??

    second I would be powder coating these, and would like to see if it could be made as a flat base as well

    Charlie,

    please post any concerns you have for this design, I can make this a plain base if you wish, I will also be having these in stock if you want to wait until there is feedback on the design.

    The cherry cost is well over 300 dollars and I will not buy one for a prototype.

    Price will be 70 to 130 for a 2-8 cavity, and will be made from 7075-T6 aluminum

    Won't powder coating enlarge the nose somewhat and cause it to need to be seated deeper? I had that problem with a .30 cal design but to be fair, it was with a tight chamber anyway. Just something for a new powdercoater like myself to think about since most of us aren't set up to size noses.

    There is the catch 22, the only thing you could do with powdercoat is put them in a stand so the nose does not get coated.

    338 RUM if you plan to stock them then I would wait and get some feed back. I like the design and it seems promising. I a just being a worry wart as I read about all the issues with the 75 nato mold. I really liked that and was gonna order, but it seems no one could say how long, and when someone asked how long, the answer was when he gets to it. not an answer I was willing to live with, and now with the issues I am glad I did not.

    How long do you estimate on initial delivery ??

    Comparing my molds to Mihec molds is like saeco and rcbs, too different companies. I use the same design program as NOE, and get my cherries cut from the same source as NOE. My time frame is within 2 months, I literally am finishing up my only group buy and have nothing else ligned up. Since we have enough to "go live" I will begin cutting molds at 20 and if necessary run a second buy to keep leade times short.

    Owning more than 14 custom molds has put a bad taste in my mouth for the leade times, I will order the cherry at 15 molds and will be cutting before the call for payme t is done.

    I'm in for either a 4 or 6 cavity. What are the dimensions of the 4 , 6 , and 8 cavity molds ? I ask because, so far keeping an Alum. 5 cavity .22 Cal. mold up to operating Temp.is about as much fun as I can stand

    I am going to do some math on the block sizes, the 8 cav molds will most likley be on full size blocks and if I can get 10 cavs in a full size block I will, Just to keep the temps up.

    Inital thinking will have a 4 cav not much bigger than an RCBS 2 cav. My plan is to have .150 between cavities and shorten the height a bit to have less mold vs cavity.

    Just so everyone has a reference to sizes;
    1. an RCBS 2 cavity mold measures 1.743" X 1.25"
    2. the 4 cavity MeHic 227-75 mold measures 1.97" X 1.55 "
    3. the NOE 5 cavity MX-3 62 measures 3.45" X 1.475"
    4. the NOE 5 cavity 311299 measures 4.13" X 1.60 "
