I got a chance to powder coat some of these this morning.
After coating the measurements fall right into spec.
Actually right dead on spec.
Cant wait to give them a go.

I'll whip out the lettering after lunch break and bring them home, "PC Mold" seems like it should do justice

I narrowed down the problem, the carbide cherry deflected by .0015 on the nose section. The cherry was only .196 wide and I did not catch this. I plan from now on to order one cherry like a rough reamer and the other two as a finish reamer.
I found this out while I was reaming the noses out and had to pop the drive bands to .229 to get the nose right. I even ran the cherry around the cavity 8 times to try and account for the deflection. It did not work.
Next I am going to run a ball mill in the nose section to open it up.
Returned mine in today's mail with a sample of the cast boolits. Thank you so much for correcting this problem. Greg

Mine went out this morning
Cast with it, I am working on molds so I know it isnt one I already fixed. Must have got mixed in with the checks.
Ken I got yours today.
Got the replacement today and cast a couple hundred. Nose is to print .220" tapering to .219. Top band .226, middle band .227 and bottom band .227.
That is great news dkf, I sure am looking forward to my 8 holer being returned.

I still have to cast some with my mould to find out if it is under size.
Got my replacement yesterday. Will try it out today.
Got my mold back today and cast with the same alloy as before ( actually the boolits from before ) It cast as per the drawing. They are now 78 gr ready to fly using my WW alloy.
Thank you Josh

these stabilize in a nef h&r 223 and 22-250 barrels / if so want it
I got a chance to shoot some of these today in my AR.
Using I4198 I was able to load down to 11.5gr and still get good ejection.
Accuracy was great for my intended use. I settled on 12 gr I4198 as a good load for my gun.
Powder coated, sized at .226 and gas checked. I will crono them tomorrow.
I have DATA!!!!!!!
If your on the fence about buying a Chronograph. get off the fence and buy one.
I found a few things of interest after 60 rounds.
1st is the knowledge that this 75gr bullet is going to work wonders.
I was expecting velocities in the 1800-1900 fps range.
Smashed that goal!!
First thing of interest. At these loads 12gr, 4198 not going to work.
I was getting two separate groups of velocities.
The 1st group of 9 were avg 1721 fps the second avged 1301 fps.
Nothing in between, its ether in the high group or the low group.
Explains the two distinct impact areas on the target.
I had also loaded 10 rounds ahead of 12gr of 5744.
These shot well and worked the action. Velocity averaged 1345 with only a 45 fps spread.
Although not done yet.
I learned that this bullet is doing exactly what I wanted. More weight to slow the velocity down.
I also learned that I now have a huge bay window to work my loads up or down.
YEA!!
