    A.C.E. Co 5.56 Heavy

    Here is a bullet I designed for the AR platform, it is my take on the 311299 scaled down to .227 diameter and with wheelweights will weigh in at 75 gr. The nose is slightly shortened to accommodate the 2.260 OAL mag restriction. With this design the check will just be under the neck and will be loaded to 2.255 OAL. Any feedback and or interest can be directed here.

    Block sizes

    small= 2 inches long
    medium= 3 inches long
    large= 4 inches long

    prices are as follows:

    3 cav $80
    4 cav $ 95
    6 cav $125
    8 cav $140

    shipping is an additional $6

    That looks a lot like this one

    The .227 bands and .220 nose are a good thing, although may require a little deeper seating depth on new Wylde & 223 Rem. chambers. Who you planning to get these cut by ??

    I will be cutting the mold, the 12 ga slug is on the mill now, like I stated earlier this is my take on a 311299 scaled down and modified.

    Using this bullet design program this boolit should drop really really close to the suggested 75 gr.

    The .227 front band may be a problem if these specs are close, except for those with NATO chambers :note Dimensions on # G & N

    An Est. cost and number of cavities per mold might entice more to sign up / show interest

    Most are going to size down to .225" or maybe .226" at the most so the front band would most likely be fine. Though I use a push through sizer myself.

    I can run 2,4,6,8 cavities and prices would be in the 70 (2 cav) to 130 (8 cav) price range.

    This is a FANTASTIC idea and if my .223 was a fast twist I'd be in. Well done.

    "most likely be fine" is what the engineer muttered to himself just before the bridge collapses and then he says "DAMN, that decimal point"
    Since I'm set up to nose size, another bushing isn't that big a deal I'M IN , BUT AIN'T WAITING 12 + MONTHS

    I was talking about nato chambers may not be fine in .223. What do you think would be better for the front band diameter, .225". All my chambers are NATO so. Should be able to be seated deeper for .223 so the front band don't hit don't you think?

    I am interested. How hard would it be to make the HP option to move the mass towards the rear of the bullet?

    This will take way less than a year, the 12 ga had some issues with the cherry and we had to design the mold so it took a bit. Once we got a "pattern" down this will go quick as I am going to pre cut the blocks and such.

    as far as a hollow point option the whole idea of this mold is for a super heavy 22 cal boolit, since it is based off of the 311299 (which is a proven target boolit with an even longer nose) I have full confidence this will shoot extremely well.

    My interest is piqued. Any predictions on how these would fare powdercoated and checked in a 7 twist, 16" chrome-lined AR barrel?

    I am assuming it will work as well as powder coat can work. The static and dynamic fit of this boolit in a 5.56 chamber should be really good to start, so my thought is it will be limited to your coatings limitations.

    I am in, at least a 6 cav, possibly 8 depending on block size, and handles needed
